In Peru of the 1950s soap operas were bought by the kilo for the radio stations. Mario at eighteen is working for a second-rate studio in Lima when he falls in love with his thirty-two-year-old Aunt Julia. Alternating with the increasing scandal of this affair are the wildly inventive scripts with their thousands of devoted fans, until fact and fantasy merge.
